Candicci’s Restaurant, located in St. Louis reports the results of their COVID-19 Support Campaign that has fed over 1200 health care workers and first responders to date

St Louis, MO (STL.News) Candicci’s Restaurant and Bar, located in the Ballwin, Missouri, is proud to announce the overwhelming success of their COVID-19 Support Campaign announced, and began on April 3, 2020.

They announced the creation of a GoFundMe page.  The interest stimulated two local businessmen to call and donate directly.  One businessman donated funds to buy food for 60 health care workers, and the other donated funds to donate 1,000 meals in total, 500 to Mercy Hospital and 500 to Missouri Baptist Medical Center.  Both requested to remain anonymous.  Additionally, $750 has been raised on GoFundMe.

Candicci’s has a history of helping support the community in times of need by offering multiple dine-out events, which raised money for public servants and employees who suffered a severe loss due to fire, death, etc.

Candicci’s requested that we help them express their sincere appreciation to these donors for helping them and the brave health care workers and first responders faced with working during this unprecedented epidemic.  The GoFundMe donors are:

  • Amy Heeger – no mistake, she has given twice very generously
  • Jim Rigas
  • Tami Short
  • K Burton
  • Zenobia Perry
  • Anonymous
  • Mary Lewis
  • Chuck & Christy Bobbitt
  • Barbara Vanderbeek
  • Terri Zamarripa
  • Amy Heeger

Initially, Candicci’s committed to complete transparency on how the funds were used and who benefited.  We are working with them to obtain that information and will be publishing it within a few days.  Restaurants around the country are reporting similar success to help raise money for local health care workers and first responders.  Yes, the restaurants are doing this to help stay in business as thousands of dollars a week have been lost in revenues to comply with the need to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.  Candicci’s is no different.

The campaign is still running, and any help that local customers and businesses can provide would be sincerely appreciated by both Candicci’s and health care workers and first responders.

Candicci’s is closed as required by local law, but they are offering online ordering for curbside pickup or delivery.  You can call (636) 220-8989 or visit their website for online ordering.  Candicci’s Restaurant is located at 100 Holloway Road, Ballwin, Missouri 63011.
