The Tom Arcobasso Tradition Continues – T. Arcobasso’s Italian Ristorante
Weldon Springs, MO/December 10, 2016 (STLRestaurant.News) I fondly remember frequently dining at the original Arcobasso’s Italian Ristorante located in North County years ago. Founded, owned and operated by the Tom Arcobasso. It was THE place to dine with my college musician friends. It was quite the cultural experience. Not only was the authentic Italian food unbelievable, Mr. Arcobasso himself would make the rounds talking to every customer and quickly learned our names. He showed a genuine interest in learning about his patrons making every customer feel special. It was the first time I ever experienced that at a restaurant.
I’m so thankful to find that his family-owned and operated restaurant legacy continues today with his daughter Toni’s restaurant, T. Arcobasso’s Italian Ristorante located in St. Charles, MO. Keeping the family involved, Toni’s sister Chrissy Arcobasso-Ayers is the manager and her nieces Nicole and Dominique Ayers are servers. Before his passing, Tom Arcobasso helped his daughter Toni open her own restaurant. During the first year following the launch, Tom was there every day with his family nurturing the successful debut of his daughter’s restaurant. From that point on, every Friday the charismatic patriarch would be at the restaurant so he could visit with his long-time customers… And Mr. Arcobasso’s spirit is very much still there and lives on through every fabulous dish, signature pasta sauces and their famous Arcobasso’s salad dressing…
For those who’ve yet to experience T. Arcobasso’s, let’s start with their popular Combination Salad. It’s a blend of iceberg lettuce, fresh spinach, and romaine hearts with olives, provel cheese, onions, pepperchini and tomatoes served with fresh warm Italian bread and butter, and choice of dressing. If you want the authentic T. Arcobasso’s culinary experience, you may want to consider their famous house made sweet thick and creamy Italian dressing.
The Antipasto menu boasts an extensive selection of signature creations and traditional favorites such as Cannelloni Bites filled with chicken and artichokes served with Arcobasso’s Marinara, Arcobasso’s Famous Cheese Garlic Bread, Artichoke Hearts, Toasted Ravioli, Italian Wedding Soup, Calamari, Chicken Drummies, Potato Antoinette, Bruchetta Ala Thomas and many more.
If you’re craving pasta with just sauce or meat, the choices are plenty, which include Linguine, Ravioli, Pasta Con Broccoli, three versions of Fettuccini Chicken Fettuccini, Lasagna, Cannelloni, Manicotti, Baked Spaghetti or Mostaccoli, Penne Pasta and Cauliflower and Tortellini.
Seafood Pastas include: Shrimp Fettuccini, Pasta Dominique (Sautéed crawfish and charbroiled chicken in a Cajun cream sauce), Pasta Julia (Shrimp, scallops, crab meat and mushrooms in a slightly spicy marinara sauce), Pasta Julia (Shrimp, scallops, crab meat and mushrooms in a slightly spicy marinara sauce), and Seafood Ravioli Antoinette (Shrimp, scallops and lobster stuffed into pasta pillows served on a bed of their house cream sauce and a touch of red seafood sauce).
According to Toni, their most popular Specialty Entre is Chicken Christina, a breaded boneless breast of chicken in their signature white cream sauce, garnished with broccoli, cauliflower and mushrooms. Additional Chicken Specialties include: Chicken Marsala, Chicken Sherri Parmigianino, Chicken Concetta, and Chicken Blake.
Steak, Pork and Veal Connoisseurs have an ample selection of Specialties to choose from including: Filet Mignon, Filet Concetta, Steak Spencer, New York Strip, Porterhouse, Ribeye, Pork Chops, Veal Nicole, Provini Veal Cutlet, Tenderloin Baci and daily surf and turf stuffed steak specialty creations.
Baked Orange Roughy and Breaded Shrimp are the catches of the seafood Specialties. Surf and Turf specialties often appear on their daily specials.
And what would a traditional Italian dinner be without the dessert? How do these sound? Canoli, Tiramisu, Spumoni, Chocolate Cake, Vanilla Sunday and Cheese Cake.
