Soulard Blues Band Jam Session at Broadway Oyster Bar
ST. LOUIS, MO/March 1, 2017 (STLRestaurant.News) – Formed in 1978 the Soulard Blues Band has become an important piece of the Historic Soulard community. In the past 25 years the band has been credited with bringing the Soulard community together and building the blues scene in St. Louis into the vibrant culture that it is today. Tom Burnham of PPC Sine Blogs stated that “the Soulard Blues Band is among the unheralded saviors of the community” (Soulard). The Soulard Blues Band has won Riverfront Times Music Poll for Best Blues artists in St. Louis twelve times. For the past 20 years, Broadway Oyster Bar has been hosting The Soulard Blues Band’s Jam Session every Monday night! It is the longest running Jam Session in the Nation! Created by Art Dwyer, the lead bassist, the band currently consists of five members: Art Dwyer, Kirk “Dr. Drum” Grice, Brian Casserly, Tom Maloney, and vocalist Marty Abullah. The Band is known to say, “Our mission always is to leave things around a little better than we found ‘em.” Their motto is said to not only apply to the community, but also the mood of their audience.
Join the band every Monday night from 9:00 pm until 1:00 am for a patio Jam Session at Broadway Oyster Bar located at 736 South Broadway, St. Louis, MO.
