Krieger’s Holds Fourth Dine Out for Officer Mike Flamion

BALLWIN, MO: (STLRestaurant.News) The outpouring of love continues for Ballwin Officer Mike Flamion from Jefferson County, as Krieger’s Sports Grill and other local restaurants get ready to host the fourth “Dine Out for Officer Mike Flamion.”  Beginning in September and throughout the end of the year, on the second Monday of every month folks can come out for “Meals for Mike,” at 21 area restaurants.  Each is donating at least 10% of the days’ sales to Officer Mike Flamion and his family! It’s a great way to join the local restaurant community in showing your support for such a great cause!

Flamion was shot and paralyzed in July, during a routine traffic violation.  Thirty-one year old, Antonio Taylor, 31, is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.  For Officer Flamion and his family, those few seconds changed their lives forever.

Mike continues to undergo intense rehab with Spinal specialists at a Colorado facility, but will need long-term medical care.  He remains paralyzed from the neck down, but continues to make progress.  Mike spends his days sitting up in a specialized wheel chair where this teaching and treatment takes place.  He has learned how to use a computer by blowing in or sucking out on a straw so he can write messages.  Doctors are not sure why, but recently Mike’s right shoulder moved, giving a reason for hope.

Mrs. Flamion hopes everyone will continue to send prayers since she believes Mike’s recovery depends on them.  To add to the fun, at the November 12th event at Krieger’s, our honored “Men in Blue” from the St. Louis County police department will be lending a hand by bussing tables, serving food and mingling with customers.  This kind of tragedy brings out the best in humanity when families, neighbors and even strangers, come together in unity and support.  And that’s exactly what has happened in this case.

For anyone interested, there is also a GoFundMe page with a current goal of $365,000 goal.  To date, $364,528 has already been raised to help the family, so they’re extremely close to making their goal.
