Fischers Hosting Southern Illinois Chiefs Association’s Annual Wine and Craft Beer Tasting

BELLEVILLE, IL: (STLRestaurant.News) There aren’t a lot of restaurants that can say they have survived and flourished through three generations, but Fischers Restaurant in Belleville, is in fact, one of them.  From 1935, when A.C. Fischer opened his Okaw Dairy Shop at 322 West Main selling only ice cream to now, this growing family tradition has continued to evolve through the years.  Today Fischer’s reflects over 60 years of family dining at its best, with banquet and party rooms for all occasions, and a fun cocktail lounge.

After losing their father earlier this year daughters, Kathy Bingheim and Annette Fischer, along with longtime employee and right hand gal, Corea Buck, are managing the reigns and are making plans to keep the family legacy progressing and continue surprising customers with new ideas.

So, if you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, Fischer’s Restaurant, at 2100 W. Main St., is the place to be.  They’re hosting the 11th Annual Southern Illinois Chiefs Association’s Annual Wine and Craft Beer Tasting this Saturday evening.  It’s a causal evening to come out and mingle for a great cause.  There’ll be appetizers from several terrific restaurants including Sevens, Tavern on Main, & Jefferson’s.

There will also be 75 silent auction items up for bid (10 of them signed Blues & Cardinal’s memorabilia), and several raffles (two of them will contain St Louis Blues tickets, one is for Cardinal’s collector’s items, one is for Illinois Scratchers Tickets, and another is for a gorgeous quilt with the areas police patches on it.)  And you can dance the night away with tunes from a local DJ..

When you come in, you are given a wine glass and can get samples from the many wine & beer vendors in the room (no additional charge for the samples).  There will also be a cash bar for those that don’t drink wine or beer.

What’s really awesome is that the proceeds of the event go to support all the Association’s favorite charities: Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Backstoppers, Special Olympics, and Do the Right Thing.  It’s especially a good time to come out and show your support for Law enforcement that has recently experienced extremely difficult times.  Remember…Blue Lives REALLY do matter!

Event tickets are $20 per person before or $25 at the door.  Doors will be open at 6:30 pm and tasting will take place from 7-9:00 pm. Cash bar 6:30-11:00 pm.  Tickets are available at the door or in advance from your local member of SIPCA or at Grappa Growlers located at 1501 N. Belt West, Belleville, Illinois, 618 -234 -9463
