Krieger’s Hometown Sports Bar Participates in “Dine Out for Disaster Relief”

BALLWIN, MO/August 20, 2017 (STLRestaurant.News) 2017 is the year we’re saying “Happy 100-Year Anniversary” to the St. Louis Red Cross.  The organization provides help and hope to those affected by some of the greatest disaster threats in our country such as floods, tornadoes, and house fires.  The biggest disaster threat in the United States is house fires.  The Red Cross responds locally to an average of three fires per day with staff and trained volunteers available to provide food, clothing, shelter, health services and comfort to those in need.

When floods hit the area in April and May, the Red Cross was among the first on the scene to help those impacted.  They had fifteen shelters open to provide 1,083 overnight stays, over 52,000 meals, and 77,147 relief items such as clean up kits that included rakes, shovels, and gloves.  In Missouri, over $1,000,000 was spent by the Red Cross on response and recovery.

As part of their year-long Centennial Celebration, the organization is teaming up with the Missouri Restaurant Association, MasterCard and KMOV-TV to hold a “Dine Out for Disaster Relief” on Wednesday, August 23.

Krieger’s Sports Grill is one of the Ballwin restaurants thrilled to be participating in the event.  A percentage of that day’s proceeds will be donated to this great cause.  All funds raised from the event will benefit local disaster relief operations.

Krieger’s owner, Dave McDonald says, “This is just such a worthy cause.”  He added, “It’s just really nice to be in a position where I can give back to the community to help the less fortunate in times of need.”

Please join Krieger’s and the many other local restaurants in their effort to raise funds and raise awareness in the community. Please tell your waiter that you are there to support the American Red Cross Dine Out for Disaster Relief. Please consider paying with your MasterCard, our Dine Out partner, to increase the donation to the Red Cross.

Another way to help is to invite your family, friends, neighbors and colleagues to “Dine Out for Disaster Relief.” For more information about the American Red Cross, please visit redcross.org.
