Future New Concept for Vincent Van Doughnuts

ST. LOUIS, MO/February 14, 2017 (STLRestaurant.News) Vincent Van Doughnuts – The Grove is getting a little sweeter.  After launching as a popular food truck in 2013, and finishing a successful year in their first brick-and-mortar business in Clayton, Vincent Van Doughnut, is now open for business at their second location.  And, the new shop, located at 1072 Tower Grove Ave., is opening just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Their second handcrafted, specialty doughnut shop is close to the size of the Clayton location but will showcase a more exposed kitchen area.  In the future it could also have expanded hours to serve the neighborhood’s vibrant nightlife.  Owner, Vincent Brian Marsden, is pursuing a liquor license to offer late night party-goers somewhere to land for a sweet treat and an adult beverage.

He has been intrigued by the interesting new concept which has been tried successfully outside of Missouri.  Marsden says they’ve used liquor in their doughnuts before so that’s given him a good crowd to do testing on.  Eventually, that will require a late shift from 9 p.m. to midnight or so, with doughnuts and possibly beignets fried to order for necessary freshness.

Right now, the Grove shop will be serving the entire list of mouthwatering treats served at the Clayton shop like the Biscuit Kolaches in sausage gravy, as well as bacon, egg and cheese, Homemade Pop Tarts and the popular Crustless Quiches.  They will also be serving Doughnut Ice Cream Sandwiches and Affogato not yet offered at the Clayton shop, thanks to the company’s Pastry Chef, Candis Stiebel.

The new shop will be open in time for the morning rush, serving its regular delectably light, flaky donuts with the distinct square shape, including specialty flavors like the Dulce De Leche, the Grand Marnier, the Turtle, and the Maple Bacon, topped with brown sugar, cinnamon, and cayenne candied bacon.  They will also be serving pastries and delicious coffee to all those tired early morning risers.

Tasty breakfast treats will have to be enough to keep customers satisfied for now.  But never fear, Vincent Van Doughnut will have just what you need to fill your Valentine’s Day gifting needs.  And, for its special grand opening Valentine’s Day celebration, they will be giving.

Grove customers a free glazed doughnut with each purchase, while supplies last!
