New Monarch Levee Trail Bringing 2nd Bike Stop to Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD, MO/April 26, 2017 (STLRestaurant.News) – There’s great news for cycling enthusiasts and those looking for another healthy dining option in Chesterfield.  A St. Charles favorite, the Bike Stop Café is opening a second location at Taubman Prestige Outlets Mall (17057 N. Outer Road, Chesterfield), which is adjacent to Great Rivers Greenway’s new Monarch Levee trail.

The original Bike Stop Café at 701 South Riverside Drive in St. Charles sits along the Katy Trail, the 225-mile multi-use trail that runs from St. Charles to Clinton, Missouri.  The café was opened in 2010 by husband-and-wife team Tony Caruso and Jodi Devonshire.  Both cycling enthusiasts, the couple wanted to provide customers of all walks of life, reasonably priced bicycles, cycling service, and healthy foods in close proximity to a great riding trail.  It’s a goal that will extend to the new Chesterfield location.

Devonshire calls this expansion “an exciting step.”  She said it “demonstrates the strength of the cycling community.”  With the two cafés connected by 18 miles of biking trails along the Missouri River, Devonshire said she expects to see their dedicated cycling customers from St. Charles visit them at both locations.  Like the original location, the new Bike Stop will also rent bicycles, and shuttle service can be arranged for riders who want to make a one-way trip between cafés.

Menu favorites from the St. Charles café will also be available in Chesterfield, including Bike Stop signature items like the Lewis & Clark wrap (feta, organic field greens, tomato, avocado, red onions, and pesto in a wheat wrap), the Greek Goddess wrap (eggs, feta, organic spinach, red onion, tomato, avocado), and their deliciously moist vegan zucchini muffins.  Customers will also be able to get Jodi’s healthy peanut butter balls.  But the new café will be much larger, allowing Devonshire and Caruso to expand their menu.  Other features of the St. Charles shop diners will find in Chesterfield include all-day breakfast and lunch service, a full-service coffee bar, and a curated selection of beer and wine.

The new café at Taubman Prestige Outlets Mall is expected to open in late June or early July.  The Chesterfield Bike Stop Café will be open Monday – Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday – Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
