Central West End’s Cozy-Hip Tortillaria’s a Top-10

ST. LOUIS, MO: (STLRestaurant.News) – It may be one of best unknown hidden gems in the city, but Tortillaria, located at 8 1/2 S. Euclid Ave., is finally starting to get its due. For those who already know about it, the cute little restaurant gets major kudos for serving what’s often called the “Best Fish Tacos in Town.” Their proud version comes wrapped in delicious corn tortillas and served with generous amounts of fresh lettuce and tomato, chipotle baja sauce, pico de gallo, and queso fresco. Their popular fried Baja fish tacos, come with freshly-made pinto beans, along with guacamole, queso, chips and sauce.
Other notable items are the Chiles Rellenos, Elote Cocido, corn on the cob dressed with mayo and crumbled Cotija cheese, the Calabaza, grilled Squash, and their crunchy fried Cinnamon Tortillas. Customers usually come away saying they would go back simply because of the charming atmosphere. It’s quaint and it offers outdoor seating. Enough can’t be said about Mary, the co-owner, as well as all of her wait staff. They all epitomize true customer service at its BEST.

Because of all the different schools and medical complexes in the area, it’s an extremely favorite lunch spot. It’s a quick 10 minutes to get in and out, and is also considered very affordable if you’re a student on a budget. Two other big bonuses are the fact that the servers continue to keep the tortilla chips flowing. They are also on the No-Wait app., so if you’re far away and want to make sure you’ll get a seat, Tortillaria honors those requests. And you’ll want to be sure to stop in for happy hour! A pitcher of margaritas only cost $15, the cheese dip and guacamole are half off, and they have a free salsa bar.
