Noboleis Wins Jefferson Cup Invitational
St. Louis, MO – (STLRestaurant.News) As if they haven’t already won enough awards, Nololeis Winery, the charming Augusta vineyard that sits on 74 beautiful green acres perched on a hilltop overlooking their crops, has done it again. Their latest feat was their 2015 Norton being named a Jefferson Cup Invitational winner in the ‘Red wine- non-vinifera’ category last month in Kansas City, MO.
For those who don’t know, the Jefferson Cup Invitational is an invitation-only wine competition. It is named after Thomas Jefferson, who fathered our constitution and was a seminal figure in America’s cultural, culinary (including wine) and agricultural history.
He had a great respect for the diversity of American viticulture and felt an important acceptance of native varieties and hybrids. Therefore, Jefferson Cup Invitational competition strives to allow every quality wine-producing region in America a place at the table.
Congratulations to Noboleis Winery, who placed as one of only 24 out of 720 wines around the country to be so honored to win this prestigious award. Twenty-seven states were invited to participate and the winners were from 9 different states. Most of the national competitions are 90% California wines, but the Jefferson Cup allows State diversity by focusing on wines from both vinifera and non-vinifera grapes
With winter upon us, there’s no better time to spend chilling out and trying out some of the best wines in St. Louis. Noboleis Vineyards and Winery, is the perfect place to kick back and relax, while enjoying the serene beauty of the vineyards!
