2017 Clayton Restaurant Week – Summer Edition

Summer Restaurant Week Offers Best of Clayton Dining – Clayton Restaurant Week – Summer Edition

CLAYTON, MO/July 9, 2017 (STLRestaurant.News) – The first week of July is upon us, and as the Fourth of July celebrations are winding down to a close around us, it’s time to mark your calendars yet again for another exciting event coming to the St. Louis area.  The Fourth Annual Summer Clayton Restaurant Week (CRW) is set to kick off Monday.  There are two Restaurant Week events in Clayton each year, the original January event, and a “Summer Edition” which takes place each July.  This year’s summer event is set for Monday, July 10 – Sunday, July 16, 2017.

Every year the event showcases popular fine dining establishments in Clayton.  This year 15 participating restaurant will offer a special fixed price, three-course dinner all week.  As has become popular in other Restaurant Week events, there will be two price tiers of $25 or $35 per person (not including tax and tip).  Six restaurants are sticking with the original $25 price tag, while eight have opted for the $35 price.  Only one, Oceano Bistro, is offering options at both price points.  Their $25 menu includes a first course choice of Caesar Salad, Bistro Market Salad, or New England Seafood Chowder.  The second course options include Rainbow Trout, Grilled Canadian Salmon, or Grilled Shrimp with Zucchini Squash Julienne Primavera.  For the third course, diners can choose a dessert Cupcake or Bread Pudding.  For $35 Oceana Bistro adds Maryland Lump Crab Cakes or a Tomato Plate with goat cheese to the first course options.  The alternate Second Course menu includes Filet Mignon with garlic potato purée, Grilled Canadian Salmon, Mushroom Ravioli with bay scallops, or Jumbo Prawn Scampi with white wine linguini.  The dessert options are the same at both price points, as is the option to add a beer for $5 (Stella Artois, 312, or Elysian Space Dust IPA).

Other restaurants participating in this summer’s Clayton Restaurant Week include: 801 Fish, Avenue, BARcelona, C.J. Muggs, Café Napoli, Cantina Laredo, Crushed Red, Dominic’s Trattoria, Herbie’s, The Libertine, Louie’s Wine Dive, Morton’s The Steakhouse, Remy’s Kitchen & Wine Bar, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House.  A peek at the rest of the special menus offered during Restaurant Week can be found online at http://www.claytonrestaurantweek.net/.

To join in on the fun, just simply visit any (or all) of the participating Clayton establishments from Monday, July 10th through Sunday, July 16th to partake in specialized fixed price menus.  Reservations are strongly advised and can be made online for some participating restaurants.  As with other Restaurant Week events around town, there are no tickets or armbands to purchase.  Simply show up, and let them know you want the Restaurant Week special.

It’s a great way to try a new restaurant without breaking the bank, and it’s a chance to give back to the community too.  Participating in the Summer Clayton Restaurant Week has the additional perk of working with Operation Food Search.  The St. Louis-based food bank is the largest distributor of free food the the needy in the bi-state area.   Patrons at participating restaurants have the option of adding $5 extra onto their bill as an “Extra Helping” donation.  Last year, nearly $6,000 was raised for Operation Food Search during the event.

So, if you’re in the mood to eat out and you want a little something special next week, keep the Fourth Annual Summer Clayton Restaurant Week in mind.  Have a great meal at one of the best restaurants in Clayton and perhaps give a little back to the community while you’re at it.
